Find a name that feels like your brand from the very beginning.
A great business name is more than a clever idea. It should connect with your audience, reflect your personality and give your brand room to grow.
My naming process combines strategy, conversation and creative exploration to uncover a name that feels authentic, memorable and aligned with your vision.
The Typebird Naming Method
1. Discovery Conversation
We begin with a conversation about your business, your goals, your audience, your values and the feeling you want your brand to create.
2. The Word Vomit Session
Yes, that's really what I call it. This is the fun part.
After our conversation, we both spend time writing down every word, phrase, feeling, idea and association that comes to mind. No editing. No judging. No trying to make it perfect. Just getting everything out on paper.
You can also invite your team, employees or family members to join in. Sometimes the best ideas come from unexpected places.
The words that seem unusual or even a little weird are often where the most memorable ideas begin.
3. Finding the Patterns
Together, we review the words and look for themes, repeated ideas and the feelings that keep showing up. These patterns help reveal the direction your brand name should take.
4. Creative Exploration
Using those themes as a foundation, I dig deeper with research, word associations and my trusty thesaurus to explore unique directions and unexpected possibilities.
5. Name Direction
We'll meet again to review the strongest naming directions, discuss the reasoning behind them and choose a path that feels right for your brand.
Timeline
Discovery meeting: 60–90 minutes
